Things I do When My Husband is Out of Town

A lot of people get excited, to an extent, when their spouse goes out of town. They get the house to themselves to do whatever they want. I get that. But I don't really feel that. Pearson went to a conference this weekend and I thought it would be great to have the apartment to myself for a weekend, but it wasn't that exciting. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my weekend, but since Pearson was only gone one night, it wasn't much different from a normal week night.

As I've mentioned before, Pearson works 70-80 hours per week and he hardly ever gets home before 9. We eat dinner together only once or twice a week. And he gets home after I'm already in bed at least once a week. He also works on most Saturdays. So the fact that he left Friday afternoon (after working all day) and came home Saturday evening, meant that his being out of town this weekend really wasn't out of the ordinary from my perspective. He has another conference in the spring, and he'll be gone for a whole week. That will be a different story.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a few things I like to do when Pearson is gone with you today!

Go to a Mary Kay Open House

My Mary Kay consultant, who is also a good friend, had an open house on Saturday where her clients could come check out all the cool things they have going on for the holidays and we could spend our "Santa Bucks" we had earned all year.

Go to a Community Theatre Show

A friend and I went to go see another friend in Little Women the musical. I had never seen that show but I love the book. It's one of my favorite stories ever and the show was wonderful! I really want to read it again now!

Watch Gilmore Girls and Full House

I'm watching through Gilmore Girls again on Netflix and I'm trying to make my way through all 8 seasons of Full House on DVD before Fuller House airs. Have I mentioned the Netflix gods must have me in mind these days? Two of my favorite shows of all time are being revived on Netflix soon and I'm so excited I can hardly see straight.

Take Lots of Pictures for the Blog

This happened this weekend mostly because the weather was beautiful and not too cold so I wanted to get some pictures taken before winter. Also, I was already wearing a full face of makeup. Since I work from home, that doesn't happen every day. Also, it gets dark so early these days that the only time I can really get good pictures is on the weekend when I can take them in the middle of the day.

 Eat Ramen Noodles for Dinner

Pearson hates that stuff.

 Go Shopping

I think this is a given.

 Take a Bubble Bath

Complete with a candle, relaxing music, a face mask, and a good book.

 Go to a Baby Shower

This actually happened on Sunday when Pearson was home, but I thought I'd include it anyway.

So even though my weekend wasn't that different from normal, I had fun while Pearson was gone. I was ready for him to be back though. Just like I am any time he works late.
