It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas....

Ok, Thanksgiving is over. We can start celebrating Christmas now. But seriously, I am all for starting the celebrating early, just not before Thanksgiving gets all its glory. See it is still November and my apartment is all Christmas-ified. We are finished decorating and I love having my own place to decorate!

Here are a few pictures...
Our first tree. Before the decorations

The tree after decorations!

In between the 2 pictures above we had a couple frustrations but nothing the Maugeri's can't overcome!

We have decided that we are going to start collecting Santa hats. All kinds. We now have 7 hung all over our living room.
Two hats. One says Merry Christmas
BOX Santa Hat
There's a Santa hat on the TV... And there's a nutcracker
Two more hats. These have sparkly sequins! And a winter scene that my Nana and Pappy made. I am so glad they let me take this- it is one of my favorite things they make. And yes, in the mirror you can see that I am wearing a Santa Clause robe..
A teddy bear holding mistletoe and a Santa rolling pin that my Nana and Pappy made
Our fridge is a snowman. Be jealous!
I tried to recreate a wreath I found on Pinterest. I think it turned out OK considering pretty much everything was from the dollar store.
Our "His" and "Hers" stockings. I love them! So gad we found them!
Have I mentioned that I LOVE decorating my own apartment? We have had so much fun and I love Christmas time! Christmas music has now been on basically non-stop in our home and cars. We watched Charlie Brown Christmas last night. It truly is "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and I can't wait to have our first Christmas as a married couple!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

So we went to the TSO concert in Cincinnati on Saturday. Ah-mazing. We went last year in Little Rock and decided we would make it a holiday tradition. Last year we were in the nosebleed section but this year we were on the floor! We could actually see the band! Haha last year we could only see the lights and fire.

For those of you who don't know (if there are any of you left out there) Trans-Siberian Orchestra is an American progressive rock band. They combine orchestral, symphonic music with hard rock. In other words, they have a string section that always comes from the local symphonic orchestra for the concerts (the Cincinnati symphonic orchestra in our case), a crazy rocker violinist, a couple electric guitars and several vocalists. They have been playing Christmas music since 1993 and the last 3 years they have added a spring/summer tour where they play Beethoven music.

They look like rock stars but they dress like symphonic orchestra members and always put on a fantastic show with lasers and fire. The first half of the show tells a story about Christmas. in this case it was "The Lost Christmas Eve", then they introduce the band and play songs from other CD's in the past and such. Here are a few pictures.
This was when we first got there. We were pretty close to the stage.
Here is the infamous story teller with the awesome speaking voice who tells the story between songs.
This is the amazing keyboard player. He was an inspiration.
Some of the lasers.
They went up on pedestals on stage.
He came right by our seats on his way to the lift in the back of the arena.
Here are 2 guitar players being lifted in the air.
The crazy rocker violinist on a lift over the audience right in front of us.
Last year I said it was the best concert ever and this year was even better! You should all see them at some point in your life. I am not kidding. :)
