Reasons Why I Love... Working From Home

So it's kinda ironic that I am posting this today because this week I am not working from home. If you don't know, after I graduated from college, I moved back in with my parents and started working for a fantastic company in Georgia while I (patiently) waited for Pearson to graduate and (even more patiently) waited to know where he was going to go to grad school. When we finally decided that Pearson would attend The Ohio State University to study for his PhD and that we would be moving to Columbus after we got married, my wonderful manager told me he wanted to keep me. He talked to the higher-ups (the president and VPs of the company) and made it work. So now I work remote from my home in Ohio every day... except that they fly me to Atlanta every couple months to work for a week in the office so that I can have actual human interactions with my coworkers. That week happens to be this week.
Anywho, lets get on to the reasons I love working from home!
  1. I get up at about 7:59 to be at work at 8
  2. I can work most of the time in my pajamas.
  3. Most days I don't put makeup on, but when I do it isn't until the late afternoon or evening
  4. If I have a video conference for work, I'll put on a nice shirt, but sweatpants stay on.
  5. Sometimes I will have the dishwasher and/or the dryer going while I am at work.
  6. I don't have to get out in freezing Ohio weather if I don't want to.
  7. I still get to work for M3 Hotel Accounting Services (a fantastic company) even though I live in Ohio.
  8. I didn't have to look for a new job in Columbus when we moved.
  9. I have the satisfaction and self-confidence that comes from the fact that my manager valued my work enough to go through the trouble to accommodate my working remote every day.
  10. I can clean and do other chores on my lunch break.
I know I am very lucky to have this sweet deal. Don't think for a minute that a day goes by that I don't thank the Father for how blessed I am and for taking care of us financially through this job.
For anyone else who gets to work make money from their home, what would you add to my list?
Thanks for reading!
