I am somewhat of an anxious person. I always have been. I get nervous before I do anything new. I worry about packing for a trip or cleaning my house for company. So my favorite verse used to be Matthew 6:34; "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."This verse, in context, is talking about getting anxious over everyday things. Silly things. Things like packing for a trip or cleaning for company. It will get done and it's not that big of a deal.
But I'm starting to grow out of my senseless anxiety. Pearson is pretty much the opposite of me in this regard. He's so chill and laid back. If we're traveling somewhere, he'll pull a suitcase out like 20 minutes before we leave and just throw some stuff in there. He's rubbed off on me a lot since we got married, but I started to see a difference even in college while we were dating.
So in college, my favorite verse changed from Matthew 6:34 to Isaiah 41:10; "fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." It still talks about fear, and how God takes care of us, but it's not necessarily talking about getting anxious over silly or pointless things.
