Priceless Powwows with Pearson & Guys Behind the Blog

Good morning and happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! If you follow me on Snapchat, Instagram, or Twitter then you probably already know that my weekend was wonderful and filled with Katniss, Peeta, and Gale! Pearson and I watched The Hunger Games Friday night. Then Saturday morning we watched Catching Fire and we watched Mockingjay Part 1 in the afternoon all leading up to the grand finale! Yep we saw Mockingjay Part 2 Saturday night and it was phenomenal. I mean, it was terrible and sad and heart-wrenching (but not as sad as the book), but it was phenomenal too.

You guys, I really think the people who made The Hunger Games films did an awesome job. I think it's one of the best adaptations from novel to big screen ever. And that's saying a lot coming from me because I'm a "book-to-movie snob" as some of my closest friends like to so affectionately call me. But I digress...

Today I thought I'd start a new fun serious where I share with you some silly conversations I have with Pearson. I've seen AmberlyChelsea, Rachel and a few other bloggers do something like this and I thought "My husband the definition of ridiculous. I should do that too." So here we are.

Also, since this post was already all about Pearson, I thought I'd have him answer this month's Guys Behind the Blog questions too, so stay tuned for that at the end!

Priceless Powwows with Pearson

We recently re-vamped our budget and worked in a "Pearson spending money" and a "Charlene spending money" aspect instead of just "Miscellaneous" for the rest of the money.
Pearson: Can my spending money roll over from month to month?
Me: Yes
Pearson (very excited): So I can save up for video games and whatever I want?!?
Me: Yes. That's the point of budgeting and saving.
Pearson: Alright! I want Halo 5!

We were eating dinner at a restaurant and he was singing *NSYNC rather loudly. He looked up and noticed me staring at him.
Pearson: I should probably stop, shouldn't I?
Me: Yeah probably.
Pearson: I'm getting to the point where I have no shame.
Me: And you're not even drinking.
Pearson: Nope!

Me: By the way, I bought a Christmas present for you the other day using my Old Navy credit card so you wouldn't see where the gift came from. I just paid it off and I'm gonna take that out of our "Christmas/Birthday Gifts" budget.
Pearson: OK! Wait, you used your Old Navy card?
Me: Yeah, why?
Pearson: Aww man. That means it's clothes.
Me: No it doesn't! I don't have to use it at Old Navy. It's just a credit card!

This is another conversation about our newly re-vamped budget. We got some profit sharing income that we forgot about.
Me: ...But that's okay I can supplement those budgets with the extra income. This is so exciting!
Pearson: *laughs
Me: Wow. I'm such a nerd. I can't believe I just said that.
Pearson: Yeah... You should have been an accountant.
(Really though, I don't know where it came from and I don't know why I just told you lovely readers either...)

Pearson: (seeing a dirty muffin pan on the counter) Did you make chocolate muffins?
Me: No. I made cornbread muffins... but I burned them.
Pearson: Oh. Well now I want some chocolate.
Me: We should go to Kroger and get some dessert before we start the movie.
Pearson: Ooh! Can I get key-lime pie?
Me: I thought you wanted chocolate!!!

Guys Behind the Blog

  • What sports did you participate in as a child? What sports did you watch growing up?
Soccer and Football.
  • If you could line up your ideal Super Bowl, who would be facing off, where would they play and who would you pick to win?
Falcons and Broncos. A revenge game. In the new Falcons stadium and, of course, I would pick the Falcons.
  • Do you prefer the summer or winter Olympics? If you could participate in one Olympic sport, what would it be?
Summer Olympics. And I would play Rugby.
  • What is your favorite food to eat at a sports party (ex: World Series, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, etc.)?
  • Who is your all time favorite athlete and why?
Probably Tim Tebow to be honest! (Ugh. I hate Tebow, btw. You know, being a Georgia fan and all.)

So what do you think of his answers? Do you ever have any funny conversations with your hubby?
Thanks for reading!
