Ultimate List of 30 Date Ideas for Valentine's Day (#LoveBlog2017 day 1: Giveaway and Linkup)

It's the first day of #LoveBlog2017 and the prompt is "Valentine's Day"!! You guys I am so excited to join Brita in her Love Blog February blog challenge again! I co-hosted with her 9 days last year as well as the entire month on Instagram. This year, I am co-hosting with her 11 days, including today.

If you are a long time reader of my blog, you may remember that I got totally burnt out after last year's love blog challenge. And in a way, that sort of jump started my downward spiral into depression. I'm planning to make this year different. I'm writing my posts pretty far in advance whenever I have time (I'm writing this on Sunday Jan 29th since there's no football today). I'm super excited about this challenge and I'm actually thinking it will help me get back into blogging and fall in love with it again.

I know Brita would love to have you join her on any day so check out her introduction post to see all the prompts and get writing!

Alright, enough of my blabbing. Without further adieu, let's jump into day one, shall we?

30 Date Ideas for Valentine's Day:

Great date ideas organized by category. Not just for Valentine's Day.

  • 1. Go out all fancy for a candlelit dinner - HINT: Try doing this on a day that's not actually Valentine's day or a weekend to avoid crowds.
  • 2. Create your own candlelit dinner at home - We did this a couple years ago and I loved it!
  • 3. Take dance lessons together - whether you take a ballroom class or follow some instructional videos on youtube.
  • 4. Watch a sunrise or sunset - God gives us two beautiful, romantic, and free shows every day and we usually miss them.
  • 5. See a show - Whether you see an expensive concert or touring Broadway show or just go down to the community theatre for a fun, romantic night out.
  • 6. Just go for a drive - This is one of my favorite things to do with Pearson.
  • 7. Watch the snow - Is it just me or is there something really romantic about watching fresh snow fall outside your window while you curl up with your spouse?

At Home

  • 11. Cook together - maybe try a new recipe.
  • 12. Camp out in your living room - Maybe even make a blanket fort.
  • 13. Have breakfast in bed - Maybe even do this for dinner.
  • 14. Have a themed movie night - Pick a series like Star Wars or The Avengers and go all out with food and everything.
  • 15. Read a book together.
  • 16. Have a board game night.
  • 17. Have a video game night.
  • 18. Have a pajama day - Spend the whole day in your pajamas playing sleep over games and binge watching Netflix.

Active or Adventurous

  • 19. Work out together.
  • 20. Play in the snow.
  • 21. Spend a weekend away somewhere fun
  • 22. Go camping - but only if it isn't freezing where you are in February.
  • 23. Go late night swimming - again, if it's not freezing or if you have access to an indoor pool. I love doing this!

Work on Your Relationship

  • 27. Talk about past and future of Valentine's Days you have and will celebrate together
  • 28. Watch your wedding video and remember how great that day was.
  • 29. Plan a future trip together - we've been planning our trip to Disney World later this year.
  • 30. Simply reminisce - Sometimes we like to look through past photos and such on Facebook and remember some fun things we've done together.
So those are my 30 date ideas for Valentine's Day! What would you add to my list? Have you done any of these dates? How did it go?
