NYC Anniversary Trip Re-Cap- Sunday

Sunday:

We woke up relatively late Sunday morning and went ahead and checked out of the hotel. They let us check our bags in with them until it was time for us to head to the airport.
After getting that out of the way, we took the subway to to the High Line. The High Line is a little treasure of Manhattan that most people don't know about. It is a public park that was built around an old elevated rail-road track. It was such a beautiful park from which you could see a lot of wonderful sites of NYC. It was really hot and humid that day because of the rain, and even though it is 'little known' to tourists, it was still kinda crowded but I think it was worth it. It was awesome to see and experience this beautiful, hidden park right in the middle of Manhattan.
The High Line from the street as we approached. It just looks like a bridge.
Pearson enjoying the wild life on our leisure walk.
Taking a break from our walk.
The Empire State Building from the High Line.
Here you can see a bit of the old train tracks,
A view from the other direction with the back of a very handsome man.
We headed back to Times Square for some last day roaming. We hit a few places we hadn't seen yet.
One of these places was the gigantic Toys-R-Us with the 3 story Ferris Wheel.
The Ferris Wheel in Toys-R-Us! Each car was a different brand of toys.
King Kong on the Empire State Building all made out of Lego's.
The Incredible Hulk made out of Lego's. And the Incredible Husband!
The Statue of Liberty made of Lego's.

Life size Obi-Wan and Anakin figures.
Superman saved us from a huge truck... falling from the ceiling?
We also stopped by Planet Hollywood to look at the tons of movie memorabilia from all times on display. While we were there we had an afternoon snack to hold us over till dinner during our layover in Nashville.
New York 'Hollywood' sign at Planet Hollywood.
Sarah's dress from Hocus Pocus!
Marilyn Monroe's infamous dress.
The Rhino from Jumanji.
After finishing our appetizers, we got our luggage from the hotel and headed to the airport via subway. On the way, the rolling handle broke off the gigantic suitcase (remember, from my Thursday post?). So Pearson had to carry it over his head the rest of the time. We got to Laguardia and were not very impressed. I think we have been spoiled with Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Oh well, the airport did it's job. We got on the plain and headed to Nashville for our 'short' layover. We got there to find out we had an extra hour delay. But we eventually made it home.

When we got home we had to have our wedding cake topper on our first anniversary! We had taken it out of the freezer before we left and let it thaw in the fridge over the weekend. It was delicious! It tasted pretty much as good as it did on our wedding day!

Our trip to NYC was wonderful. I loved being able to do whatever we wanted without a schedule and to experience all these things with the love of my life. I love being married!

Thanks for reading!
