As you guys know, I am not a beauty blogger. Or a fashion blogger. Duh, right? But I do sometimes like to consider my blog a "lifestyle blog with an emphasis on marriage" because while I'm very passionate about marriage and it's something I blog about a lot, there are other things I like to blog about too.
I've been toying around with the idea to do a "daily makeup routine" post for a long time. I haven't published it for several reasons. One being the fact that I'm not a beauty blogger and it doesn't go with the theme of my blog. Another being that I'm not a Youtuber. Most "daily makeup routine" type things you see on the interwebs are in the form of videos. I am not very comfortable in front of the camera nor do I have the software to edit videos to my own standards.
However, Helene of Helene in Between is not a beauty blogger either and she recently wrote a post about her daily makeup routine using pictures and text, not video. Of course she posted a video about it later but that's neither here nor there. After seeing her post, I started thinking again about posting my own makeup routine.
Lastly, when I got my most resent voxbox from influenster and it was a Maybelline box, I knew I had to do this post!
So let's get on to the routine, shall we?

After that, I do some contouring. I use the e.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia. I use the e.l.f. Angled Blush Brush to swipe the bronzer under my cheek bones, along my jaw line, across the top of my forehead, and down each side of my nose. Then I use the same brush to apply the blush to the apples of my cheeks. Then I use the e.l.f Complexion Brush that I mentioned earlier to blend everything in.
Then I move on to the eyes. The first step I do is color in my brows with Maybelline's Brow Drama Promenade Crayon that I got from Influenster to review. I love how easy it is to just swipe it over your eye brows a few times to the desired thickness. The only problem is you can't really sharpen it. You aren't really supposed to need to because you can twist the bottom to make more come out, but the point gets dull pretty quickly and then I don't know what to do.
Then I use a black eyeliner pencil (I don't know what brand and the writing is wiped off) to line the top and bottom lashes from the outer corner to about half way in. Then I curl my lashes with an e.l.f. eyelash curler and put on a few coats of Maybelline New York Great Lash Big Washable Mascara in blackest black. I've used this mascara ever since I started wearing mascara and I love it! I've tried a few others including non drug store brands like Mary Kay and I just like the Maybelline Great Lash so much better!
Last but not least, comes my lips! First I line them with the Maybelline New York Colorsensational Lip Liner. I don't know what color I use. Then I use Younique Stiff Upper Lip Lip Stain in Shy. Honestly, I don't think this lip stain stays as long as other lip stains I've used. BUT it doesn't dry out my lips like other lip stains have. And it definitely stays longer than regular lip stick. So it's a pretty good trade off.
